The Girls in my Life

Just sitting here tonight looking at a few pictures form the year. This was one of my favorite pictures this year. I love you gals. Of course I have new girls to direct my life.

Today I beat the Rubik's cube. It was pretty challenging (but with help from the Internet I did it).

Christmas! It was a great day. The girls were very excited. They still haven't quite played with all of their toys. One of my favorite gifts was the Nerf guns that the girls got. Maddie and I played army men for about an hour. It was right after we played with her new bat and ball. She told me after awhile "This is a lot more fun than baseball." I think that she will like baseball when it gets warmer.

Thanks for the Dog stuff. Maddie really loves her dogs. Someday we will get her a real dog.

Lauren had a great time and keeps asking if Santa is coming again. She was very excited about her build-a-bear clothes and her game Elefun.

We went swimming yesterday a couple of hours from here don't worry it was inside. The girls loved it. We spent about 5 hours there and didn't get home 'til about 10pm. The girls went right to bed. So I got Amy some new home phones for Christmas and they are so high tech that Amy and I have had a few fits trying to figure them out.(that really makes me sound old) Speaking of OLD, I am getting a lot of gray hairs and I seem to always be injured, man I really am getting old.

Next post: My goals for the new year.

PS-- What did you give Jesus for Christmas? (a little peace, obedience, a better attitude) Maddie decided to be more obedient.

I love you all---

Good Night

The best story ever

Thanks Jill for contributing. @ least the Utes can beat one instate rival, (man I really don't like BYU). Anyway a couple of days ago I got this email from one of my classmates and thought that I would post it on the blog. It is the funniest story of all time. I just cut and pasted the story from my email so enjoy.

I also have a funny link for ya'll to follow and watch us dance.

D2008,

Many of you might have heard this story, and many have asked so here it is in full, enjoy...

Last week I was delivering a #29 PFM. My patient was a normal guy, possibly the most normal in my patient pool. I began to lay back his chair, explaining that I would be removing his temporary in order to deliver the permanent crown. Before I could lay him all the way back, he reached into his mouth himself, and handed me the temporary. "it's been loose for about two weeks now" he told me. "wow", I said, "You're lucky you didn't swallow it." He looks at me and says "Oh, I did." At this point I am a bit confused, and said something to the effect of "Oh, well then it's a good thing you were able to cough it up." "No, I swallowed it." I'm trying to hold back laughter. "yeah, I swallowed it." he said somewhat proudly. " Just ate nothing but prunes for a few days, sifted through things a few times until I found the crown. Soaked it for 10 minutes in some Hydrogen Peroxide and it was good to go." Now I'm holding back tears of laughter, and tell him he's my first patient to do something like that. "really?" he says, "Seemed like the common sense thing to do."

Happy holidays.

Week Before Finals

Hey Family!

Jeff let me be a part of the blog even though I waited forever to contribute. I just got done doing a section about deferred taxes on my take home test, now I only have stock options, pensions, leases, and capitalization to go. Yay!

It hasn't necessarily been a good week for me. As with everyone, end of semester is draining. Plus I skipped out on my final to go to the Utah State v. Utah game at the Huntsman Center and the Aggies got spanked. I think I would have rather taken the final than go to the game. I had to drive to Orem to take it today. Totally not worth it, and I don't recommend doing it. But, I'm still an Aggies fan and hope I get some of the Ute basketball players in my class next semester so I can fail them and then they'll be ineligible to play!! :) Just kidding.

I miss everyone and can't wait til semester is out! Love you all!

Christmas Time Is Here

It is that wonderful time of year again. Merry Christmas to all. This week I have been in Martinsville on a rotation. A couple of weeks ago I went to Utah & Denver. It was sure nice to see you all. Thanksgiving was a blast!! The first day that we were there Maddie & I went to go look @ the ocean, and wouldn't you know it before too long Maddie was completely wet. The water was about 60 degrees, but she had a blast. Later we played in the sand dunes with Lauren & got completely dirty. You know sometimes I wish I would just play with the girls a lot more often.

Today I enjoyed my first Italian soda, I had lime of course & my favorite part was blowing bubbles to mix the drink up, I thought, "finally a drink that actually promotes blowing bubbles, Maddie would love it"

The Baby is due in nine weeks & we as in me still don't have a name for our future child any suggestions?

I'm out!

Jeff

ps - sorry no photos -- I'm on a friends PC. I will update later

A Good Ole' Game of Cowboys and Indians

Me and Sam went to the footbal game yesterday. What a game it was!! The Utes beat Wyoming by a score of 50-0. It was sweet!! After a crummy start on the season the Utes have now gone on a six game win streak. At the game the crowd was cheering "GUARANTEED!" because the Wyoming coach had gone on ESPN radio and guaranteed a win against Utah.

Anyway life is good we are having a great time at school. Dec. 1 is getting close and then we will know where we are going for dental school. :)

Here is a cool picture of one of Mack Truck's TDs.

Quick and clean

Just some photos from our trip to the ocean a couple of months ago. The beach rocks. Maddie enjoyed the ocean a lot this time and really likes the boogey board.

As always we are a go utes family.

Teeth -- Teeth -- Teeth

Todays blog is about teeth. I haven't recently taken any pictures of the girls but I would like to share with all of you what I have been doing for the last 3.5 years -- TEETH. Gross Huh? I know that to some people teeth are the most disgusting things ever (and for some people believe me they are) but for me I love it. I like dentistry more than I ever thought I would. I want to give a shout out to Ryan S.(no last name for lack of spelling ability and confidentiality). I think that the conversation that we had Christmas of '03 was what convinced me to check it out and change my career path, so thanks. At times even before I was accepted I wondered if it was right for me. Well I chose correctly and I love. I am looking forward to looking into all of your mouths one day and hopefully not doing anything (keep brushing) or make them better in some way. Anyway here are some pictures of some of the fillings I have done. This one was done last Friday:
This is the tooth before I cut any of it away. The filling has decay underneath it.
This is after I cut the old filling and decay out of the tooth.
This is the final product. I hope that it is visible (wait I actually hope that it isn't).
Love,
Jeff

Build-a-Bear

Here are the girls at Build-a-Bear workshop. Maddie finally filled her marble jar and we got to go to the workshop. Lauren got some glasses for her bear (named Richmond) and she decided that she likes wearing them more than Richmond does. Maddie picked a ... DOG, we were a bit shocked but I guess that it makes sense. Her name is Lewis.

Love,
Jeff, Amy, Maddie, Lauren and Buster
PS - Buster didn't get an animal today maybe next time.

Happy Halloween!!
These are my super girls the are beautiful. They had a wonderful time trick-or-treating tonight. Maddie lead the way and Lauren picked up fast. They both were very polite, and said thank-you after EACH HandFull. They were cute. It took us a while to get to sleep. I guess that sugar really does affect children. We spent the rest of the evening at some fiends house for chili and good conversation.

School is going well, I spent 3.5 hours in the lab today working on casts to reach the end and realize that I messed something up in the end. Strange how that works. I am ready to move into private practice at the end of the year or as close to it as possible.

Life rocks. Hillary looked bad last night and maybe she is the ideal person for any of the republican candidates to run against.

Go Utes Trip

This is the UofU game in Louisville KY. Maddie and I traveled for 8.5 hours (road time) to get there. Maddie was a champ, and she lasted to the end of the third quarter before she collapsed. The Utes won and that made it sweet. Maddie's favorite part of the trip was the hotel swimming pool. We met Kevin there and he rode back with us to Richmond. Maddie did great and was only able to get through Curious George 7 times (better luck next time setting the world record). It was a blast. Thanks mom for the tickets.

The Beginning

I heard about this blogger this morning at dental school and now I am starting my own. This blog is about whatever and whatever, but mostly about my wife kids and extended family.

The Girls(all of them) are doing great. Amy is due sometime in February and she is doing well. No pics quite yet for all to enjoy. We still don't know what we are having but are hoping for a boy mainly because we have a boy name that we both like and can't seem to agree on a girl name.

Happy Halloween!
