Maddie decided that she wanted to play softball this year so we found the local league and signed her up.  I quickly became aware of how expensive it is to try out a new sport but Maddie was committed and it was worth every last penny.  It brought tears to my eyes and happiness to my heart to watch Maddie start something she'd never done before and was nervous about doing, transform into a confident softball loving girl.  She had the world's greatest coach who loved her and coached her through it all.  I can't wait until next season!!

 The league needed sponsors and we thought it

would be fun for Maddie to have her last name

on her jersey so Jeff became a sponsor

with all the girls.  They had some great times!

Mission Project

Maddie came home from school with a paper that said SHE had to "build" a mission for one of her 4th grade projects.  She was given plenty of time to complete the task however, her mother didn't really pay attention to the task until the weekend before the project was due.  This meant it was crunch time!!  So here's how the project went down.....

 Jeff.....I mean Maddie, spent several hours on a Sunday

afternoon cutting and measuring and gluing cardboard

together to resemble the mission she was assigned.

Then Amy, I mean Maddie, spent several more hours

painting and distressing the outside.  She also made 

vinyl windows and doors

 After the mission was built, Jeff, I mean Maddie,

spent time with a very hot glue gun gluing all the

small pieces into place

 Still gluing....

 even more gluing...

Finally, Jeff and Amy's, I mean Maddie's hard work

was all done and her mission was ready to be turned

in.  Thankfully, Amy, I mean Maddie also spent

several hours typing her report so it would

all be complete.  Good job parents and Maddie.

We got an A+ on the project.  In all honesty, Maddie

really did type her own report.  Amy just helped

out a little to make sure it all made sense!

Dr. Seuss We Love You!

It was Dr. Seuss day at school and the kids were allowed to dress up like characters from Dr. Seuss books.  My kids wanted to be Thing 1 and Thing 2.  We pulled out the vinyl cutter and ta-da....we made cute shirts.  Aren't we just so talented around our house!? :)
