Happy Brithday Lauren!

Lauren turned 3 on September 6th and what a wonderful birthday it was for her!! I can't believe that she is already 3 years old. She has really grown up these past couple of months. Her vocabulary is amazing and she talks non stop. She is always making us laugh. We are truly blessed to have her in our family. She is such a joy and a sweetheart. She makes my heart melt by the wonderful things she says to me. She tells me daily that I am her best friend and she loves me very much. Lauren has turned in to quite the princess. She wears her dress up clothes as much as possible and we enjoy watching her be "girly." She has also decided that her favorite color is green. It has made life very simple. Everything for her is green. The balloons, the cake, the candles, the wrapping paper, the ice cream, the clothes, etc. When in doubt, go green. WE LOVE YOU LULU!!!

Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I remember seeing a commercial when I was younger where parents were running happily through the store throwing school supplies into a shopping cart and this song was playing in the background. I always thought it was a bit mean and I wondered if that's how my parents felt about school starting. Well, now that I am a parent, I fully understand the beauty of this song. I do love Maddie and we a FANTASTIC summer but I know that Maddie was more excited for school to start that I was. She loves structure and routine and we didn't have much of that at our house this summer. Maddie is now in 1st grade and she is no longer the minority in her class. I only mention that because Maddie mentioned it to me. "Hey mom, look at all the kids, they look just like me, well except for one." She is also excited about her teacher, Amy Roberts. Maddie thinks it is great because my maiden name is Amy Robertson. Maddie chuckles every time she talks about it. She finds joy in the simple things. Maddie had a great first day at school and she came home and told me that for lunch she ate the best macaroni and cheese ever. I am assuming that it was the best ever because she was starving. I couldn't get her to eat breakfast before heading out the door.....she was just too excited to eat.

Our day at Gateway

Grandma and Grandpa decided that it would be fun for all the cousins to ride the Front Runner to Salt Lake, eat lunch, and run through the fountains at Gateway. Since we really miss the fountains at Stony Point, we decided to join the family on the outing. Please forgive me for all the pictures. There were so many cute ones I just couldn't decide so I posted them all.

Here we are waiting patiently for the train

Parker didn't enjoy the day like the rest of us did.
I think he felt bad that I didn't take his suit. SILLY ME!!

Maddie and her cousins having a wonderful time!!
